
Dr. Christopher Cogan conducts research on biodiversity and interdisciplinary coastal research. Current projects include global climate change impacts on coastal regions, as well as projects on ecosystem based management with key elements of habitat mapping using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He has also worked on ecological analysis for land-use and reserve system planning, California condor habitat studies and national Gap Analysis research for protected area management. Dr. Cogan is the Faculty Director of the CSUCI GIS Laboratory.

GIS database project for the Polar and Marine Research vessel "Polarstern", from the Alfred Wegener Institute in Germany. This poster includes data from the period 1982 - 2007, representing a total of more than 55,000 reports.
